Today the new Exchange 2010 beta was released. After implementation we noticed the possibilities to integrate Exchange Online with an on Premise Deployment.

Vandaag de hele dag op de IPON geweest. De IPON is de onderwijsbeurs voor ICT. Eigenlijk een beetje een tegenhanger van de NOT, waarbij op de NOT tevens allerlei andere aspecten als ICT aan bod komen. Dit soort beurzen zijn altijd erg leuk. Je ziet alle oude bekenden en ontmoet veel nieuwe bekenden. Daarnaast mocht ik, op een presentatie na, de hele dag met de Surface spelen.
De reacties op de Surface waren overweldigend. Zonder enig voorbehoud was iedereen enthousiast over de mogelijkheden en zag bijna iedereen direct mogelijke toepassingen. Qua echter onderwijsapplicaties hadden we echter niet zeer veel toepassingen behoudens enkele door onwijs gemaakte applicaties en veel applicaties uit Engeland en Amerika. Om die reden heb ik een kort filmpje opgezocht over de wijze waarop de Surface in Engeland gebruikt wordt in het onderwijs:
Toch zou ik op iedereen die dit leest een beroep willen doen. Wie bedenkt de leukste onderwijstoepassing? Wortell zal hem waarschijnlijk maken. Mail me of reageer even op mijn blog in de commentaren.
Dit instituut wil een positieve houding ten opzichte van mislukkingen bevorderen omdat iedereen kan leren van eigen falen of dat van anderen. Veel innovaties komen voort uit mislukkingen, en veel nieuwe vondsten worden gedaan terwijl mensen eigenlijk op zoek waren naar iets anders. Dus: fouten maken hoort erbij! Zonder mislukkingen geen vooruitgang.

Vanmorgen is de analyse van de 'groenheid' van ons wagenpark gepresenteerd. Terwijl ons gebouw bijna geheel 'groen' en in ieder geval CO2 neutraal is (bekijk de Wortell kerk op PhotoSynth), kunnen we dat helaas niet zeggen van ons wagenpark. Hieronder een plaatje:
Tijdens het bezoek van de week aan de AutoRAI in Amsterdam (ff site checken: www.autorai.nl, SharePoint 2007) werd me inmiddels wel duidelijk dat het 'oubolligheidgehalte' van stroomauto's in ieder geval totaal niet meer van toepassing is (de nieuwe stroomauto's van de TCA daargelaten dan), zoals de nieuwe Lotus. Misschien moeten we toch daarnaar gaan kijken!
Last week we ran into a problem with the SharePoint Online Table of Content webpart. It appeared that the webpart didn't show all the results which it was supposed to. After we looked into this problem we found that it is normal behavior for SharePoint to show a maximum of 50 items. However in SharePoint it is possible to expand the number of results. In order to do this a change in the web.config site should be done. This is described in the following blog article: Table of Contents webpart 50 site limit (http://community.officesharepointpro.com/forums/thread/27307.aspx).
After finding this solution we contacted Microsoft support to have this issue resolved. We asked them to either change the webpart or the web.config. At this point Microsoft couldn't give us an approval on this change. Therefore we are stuck with the 50 item site limit.

Over the next few days BPOS usa will get an update. This update will provide some extra functionality but does require some changes to SharePoint Online and the Directory Synchronization tooling. Next to this you’ll have to update the SSO tool.

3. Directory Synchronization Update
Do you use the Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization tool? If so, you will be interested to learn that Windows Update recently released a high priority update that will stop your Directory Synchronization service. After installing this update, you will need to restart Directory Synchronization. For more information, see Directory Synchronization Update.
Vorige week hebben wij een nieuwe versie van de website voor de door Wortell ontwikkelde Learning Gateway live gebracht. De site is opgebouwd in SharePoint Server 2007, aangevuld met Flash (jammer genoeg nog geen Silverlight).
Op de website presenteren we zowel MijnBasisschool.nl als de Wortell Learning Gateway. Van de Wortell Learning Gateway wordt dan ook de nieuwe WLG 2.0 versie gepresenteerd.
